Default C6 Convertible Top Issue...HELP!

Victim: 05 Convertible
Issue: While putting the top back up, it stopped halfway? I turned the car on and back off several times, put it into drive then back into park to no avail. Then after pushing the top manually forward/backwards a little bit, it suddenly started working. It came about 97% closed then stopped working again. I was able to pull it shut and lock the handle in but the LED display keeps saying "Top Not Secure" even though it's closed. I tried to index the windows but that didn't work and now it won't go down or up? Anyone have any ideas?

check the hydraulic pump, there is a pressure relief valve screw that tends to need a 1/4 turn every now and then....

Do you know where the pump is located? The owners manual says its under the hood but It's not?

There is a separation trim panel between the trunk and cabin.
It is "notorious" for coming off its pins, which trigger sensors.
Easy to check...open trunk..two pins near the front lf and rt trunk opening.
Good luck.

PS It is good to confirm where the pump release valve is for an emergency top issue.

I'm going to check that trim panel now, is the hydraulic pump behind there?

If that doesn't work, you may have a loose battery connection and need to re-index the windows. The top won't move if this is the case.

Yeah the battery's fine. I did index the windows and finally found the hydraulic pump behind the passenger seat, under the tonneau. I tightened up the screw and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks everyone for your help on the matter!! You guys all rock!

Midiwiz, I see that you're from Merritt Island, FL. My wife and I are actually going to to FL in a few weeks to scope out that area to see if that's where we want to move to in 3 more yrs when my son graduates HS. How is that area? Do you like it? I am going to open my Kickboxing/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school down in that area as well.

I have a friend in that area actually cocoa beach who loves it. Wherever you decide remember no more snow for you guys in Fl. When I moved down I drove the whole east coast and some of the west coast of Florida before I made the decision. Good luck
