Take that sensor out and go from there.
Like I said before, you'll probably see that the sensor is scored on the face, or if not, you maybe able to wiggle the cam sprocket through the hole to confirm looseness there.
I took the sensor out but didn't see any marks or metal. Still could be a cam bolt but couldn't confirm it with the cam sensor.
Sounds like you going to have to dive into this more, but the only other thing that I could see happening is possibly the center crankshaft bolt coming loose, allowing the HB to release pressure to the oil pump drive and crank sprocket which could make some rattling noise...
Barring that, pulling the front timing cover is next, if your pretty sure the noise is at the front. Good luck..
