Possible water pump leak. Check your coolant level.

It's not the dreaded gas leak, is it?

One time a cantalope fell out of a shopping bag and wedged in the corner of my trunk. The smell was horrible, and it took me weeks to track it down.

Could be a dead mouse hidden somewhere in the engine compartment or under the car near exhaust

Can you try to describe the smell. It could be anything from a dirty A/C filter to a heater hose leak to a gas fume smell

Yes, a dead mouse and gas or antifreeze don't smell ANYTHING alike.

If it's a Sulphur smell, it could be your catalytic converters ...

I was waiting for that word "oil"!!!

Man, there are many, many threads about this topic. It (the topic, and the smell) resurfaces again and again, and then disappears for a while. But the famous "oil smell" issue is like a plague of locusts that just won't go away for us C6 owners. I too get 'the smell' every once in a while. It happens to a LOT of C6 owners.

The truly amazing thing is that there seems to be no definitive answer as to what's causing it. I have tried to remain impartial, and I have my own theory, but I am totally willing to accept that I am wrong. However, I need to see the correct theory, one that has been tested and 100% proven.

Anyway, here's one thread of many on the topic:

Good luck!
