Default Ever trailered your car

Anyone ever trailered their car with a cover on it? The cover i have has the elastic around the bottom. Wonder if it would stay on while traveling?

it won't, there's a lot more to "tarping a load" then you think, you drive out doors don't you? better have a little lumber around to get it and the trailer the rockers will scrape the trailer, ramps aren't long enuff, unless you've used the trailer before, have some 2x8 2x10 pieces around, don't try it with your cover, at best you'll just lose the cover, at worst it will beat the paint to death and then fly off onto the car behind you and they'll wreck

I wouldn't cover it, way more abuse to the paint with it whipping against the car than the little dust and rain that you might encounter.

Not a very good idea to trailer with a cover.

The only time it is ok to trailer with a cover on it is when it is inside an enclosed trailer!

Otherwise DON"T DO IT!!!!! As stated it will beat your car to death untill it flies off or rips.

I have seen what a car cover will do to the paint when it starts to move and flap at highway speeds, it is not pretty. Never trailer a car on an open trailer with a car cover on the car.

Is there something wrong with your car that it needs to be trailered??? Or is it a race only car??? I have a sign that I use when we occasionally show the wife's 69 Camaro SS. "If you see this car on a trailer, call 911, it's been stolen"

Nothing wrong with car, going to an event where it will be on display for 2 days and want to have a vehicle to get around in for those 2 days
It will be on display on the USS Lexington with 399 other corvettes!!

I've heard that's a pretty cool show.
If you are worried about front end damage on the vette you can tape it up with blue "painter's tape"
If you are worried about the car getting dirty just get over it.

It will severely chafe your paint.

OP, Hope you have a great time at the show.

Lisa, That's a plastic cling wrap the factory uses for shipping. It does not flap and it has to be peeled off.

it's a "heat shrink" material specificly made for this purpose, it almost "hardens when it cools, such a tight fit there's no thing left to flap around , that ain't your average car cover, it is what this gentleman needs though it appears that he doesn't drive it around, he just hauls it around to shows, to bad there more fun to drive.

I was being sarcastic, but the Stinrays in my pic are covered in some sort of fabric, complete with zippers.

And it did flap.
