Telephone quotes $200 to $300 to wheel out .
The black pad is the polishing pad and is the final one before hand waxing. Someone skipped a step if you have swirl marks. Fine fine compound with the black pad. And just remember to keep moving. When you stop in one spot, that's when you risk burn through. Keep it moving and you will be just fine. Once you do it and see your success, you'll be happy you did.

If you own a Black vehicle, this is THE one to have...ZYMOL Carbon wax. It retails for about $50 for 8 oz. I've tried them all over the last 35 years, this is the best I've found thus far. And I currently own 3 Black vehicles. No polishing, no clay bar, just waxing.

I'm lazy. So wash, clay, and Rejex twice annually works for me. Yeah, it's not perfect for appearance, but I bought it for performance and road trips.

No wax by itself will not hide swirls and holograms. You must correct the paint with machine polishing to remove the imperfections before the wax. Wax is a protection for the corrected paint surface. There are no short cuts to a defect free shine. Will spend up to 12 hours depending on how bad the paint is (Black is the worst). Late model Corvettes are very time consuming because of the ceramic clear coat.

Its time for my regular wax thread input. Give me a black hood and i'll wax 1/2 of it with a bottle/can of $5000.00 super-dooper-pooper wax....and then i'll wax the other 1/2 with a $10 bottle/can of good ol Mothers or a reasonably priced wax and I doubt one could tell the difference....

Maybe not a wax....but a fill-in glaze will....and its a heck of a lot easier than going through all the "correction" work.....

If the condition of the paint on both sides of the hood is equal you most likely can't tell a whole lot of difference in the shine. Sometimes the $10 product will produce the same shine as the super-dooper wax.

I've been using this wax for a little over a year...it's a good wax...but I didn't notice any difference over what I was using (Wolfgang Fuzion). In either case I'm glad you got great results...

Allow me to contribute, my GS was detailed yesterday by my friends shop.

All work included doing the wheels, all trim etc.

Washed, clayed, polished and coated with Carbon Ceramic coating from the Carbon Collective.

Enjoy!

If I may be so bold....how much did that cost you.....or how much would it cost someone if the shop wasn't owned by a friend ?

Its a $300.00 job. He cleaned and coated EVERY LAST piece on the car, interior as well. The engine looks brand new.

This is a car which drives 62M every day up and down I95, she is my brawler.
