Maybe a stupid question But I just notice the brake lights on my 13 G/S do not come on when the car is turned off. Anyone know Is this normal ?
Thanks!
Thanks, They do work in accessory mode. Sounds like it must be normal.
I don't think I've ever noticed that on any other vehicle.
No big deal I guess just seems kinda weird.
Brake lights generally come on when you step on the pedal . . .why should they come on when you shut the car off?
The question is when sitting in the vehicle with the ignition off and brake pedal pressed should the brake lights come on. Most vehicle Do !
Apparently as others here have stated the grand sports do not. It seemed kind of odd to me and that is why I asked the question. Is it normal.
My cadillac CTS doesn't do it either, along with the vette. Had this discussion with a workmate that swore "ALL cars" will have the brake lights work if you step on the pedal, even if the ignition (Key out/off) is off.

Up until now I would have agreed with your friend at work. I tried it on my 2015 Silverado and the wifes 2012 Rav 4 The brake lights work on both with ignition switch off. I'm thinking most vehicles do. But now I know there are some that don't. No big deal I guess but still seems a little weird to me.
Thanks for the info.
