The P2138 is one of the 2 common Accelerator Pedal Position sensor codes that "usually" means you'll need a new accelerator pedal assembly....BUT first....

Check post 2 in this thread for TSB info on a possible connector issue with that code:

A few easy things to check;
Check for a broken wire that is located at the throttle body connection. Give a tug on each individual wire at that connector, as there has been issues with broken wires inside the insulation. Check for dirty pins inside the connection there as well. A dirty throttle body can create these problems.

Did you check the thread that rick t pointed to?
Does the throttle body look dirty/stained, as it would not hurt to clean with the correct cleaner.
Other than that, dealers/mechanics have the Tech 2 to perform more in depth testing of the code P2138, Accel Pedal Pos (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation.
If you are real good at understanding the circuits and have access to a vom, there are tests that one can perform on the APP.
Alternately, after reviewing some of the issues listed here, you could take a chance at replacing the accelerator pedal.
The P1516 points to the throttle body or the tps's that are built inside the unit.
These issues drive even knowledgeable people crazy.

I see that you have the Vitesse controller. Did you try removing the unit and resetting the trouble codes?

^^^^ what he said. Your vehicle is not 'stock' if you have the Vitesse controller added.
Remove that from the equation and see if the problem corrects itself.

Gotta get that out of the picture to rule it out as a cause of the issue.

Error code P2138 is very common on many GM Cars including their Trucks.

It's your TPS ( Throttle Position Sensor ) going bad.

Will need to replace your Gas pedal

I am having the same problem with my C7 and was wondering if it was related to the Vitesse. Please post if replacing the pedal assembly did the trick. Mine works fine for hours and then malfunctions so its hard to know what works.

I'm still under warranty so I guess the dealer will fix it but I suppose I better remove the Vitesse before taking it in. Was the throttle pedal expensive?

I pulled the Vitesse and I am out on a drive. About 60 miles and good so far. But it went further than this previously and then failed so we'll see.

Guy's take the Vitesse out and leave it out until you are sure that you have corrected the problem .

And then if you reinstall the Vitesse make sure you recalibrate it

Every post about a Vitesse throwing codes always is cured with a recalibration ......

Default Recalibrate

Good advice. I talked to Ahmed at Vitesse and he said the same thing. He also said to move the black box somewhere cooler than where I had it behind the carpet. I did both yesterday and so far so good.
