Default Window Tint input

I've heard many things from many installers so I thought I'd poll all of you -

Window Tint. There is metallic, ceramic, and one that isn't either. They offer different levels of heat blocking.

I am doing the front windshield with a 'clear' since that's the major source of heat.

What's your experience? Brand, type, etc.

Love the ceramic. More expensive, but if you do park out in the hot sun frequently, the heat reduction with ceramic is better than the others. I also put clear ceramic on the windshield. Full ceramic will keep the car up to 10 degrees cooler than standard tint.

I got ceramic and couldn't be happier, it's hard to explain but it appears darker looking from the outside and does not restrict vision looking out.

Mingo from Suncap AutoTint has a very effective selling tool that clearly displays the real world difference between window tint types regarding blocking infrared heat.

He has a infrared light bulb encased in a 4-sided glass box that spins. Each side of the case is tinted with a different tint type: 50% ceramic, 35% metallic, 5% metallic and no tint at all. By spinning the sides you can feel the amount of heat that transfer through the tinted glass from the infrared bulb. The 50% ceramic is practically clear compared to the other tint shades but blocks the most heat, even over the 5% limo tint.
