Default Input on purchase

Ok was looking at getting a C7 but things happen and I am now looking at C6. Is there any year thats better or certain years.? For example if I found a low miles 2008 for the same price as a 2011 with higher miles. ??Looking for auto and removable hard top rather than convertible and LS3. Any things to consider throught the different years?

Default C6s are great

Mine is a 2005. There were some production issues with my year, but after driving Margaret for seven months it appears the previous owners addressed the problems. I was lucky.
I hear that the 2008s are good to shop for.

good luck,

A good quick read on the C6 generation, year by year.
Good luck with your search...

The 2011 to 2013 years had more improvements, especially to the Bose sound system. Depends on how much more mileage the 2011 has.
In 2013 the seats were improved for more comfort.
They are all nice cars, but as with most cars, the manufacturers make some changes each year.

In my opinion, I would look for the newest year vette you can afford to buy that's been taken care of and no modifications made. I won't buy a car with any mods made to it.

Well if we are really living large, it would be a Z06...but that kills the removable roof and auto transmission

But on the original question: look for the newest you can afford, definitely 08+ but I would recommend 11+ simply because of the ability to hook up your Ipod, Iphone, Android to the USB inputs. Not sure if this is important to you, but it is something to think about unless you want an aftermarket head unit or try to find a 11+ factory unit off the forum.

It would help us if you stated what the mileage difference is between the two, rather than just "low" and "higher".

All other things being equal, a vehicle with 50K miles that was driven on freeway commutes for 90% of those miles is in better condition than a vehicle with 20K miles that was driven 90% in city traffic.

In either case, negotiate hard to get the best deal you can. If you fall in love with a vehicle and overpay, it will be a lot harder to sell if you have to move it sooner than expected.

2010 and up GS, 2012 you get redesigned seats as well. LS3 engines showed up starting in 2008. Get the newest you can afford is usually a good rule of thumb. It gets strictly subjective when it comes to any mods, special editions like 60th anniversary, 100th yr chevy anniversary, etc.
Then you have trim levels to deals with, factory options, like dual roof, z51, f55, on and on...Give us more info on the two examples that you mentioned if you can

Great pointers on the USB inputs and the more comfortable seating this is the type of things I was looking for

Aside from the presence of a properly installed, fully functional CAI, "KyJim's" comment(s) are well worth considering !!

There is nothing wrong with a lot of modified cars if they have mods that appeal to you. Someone would be damn lucky to get my car if I ever sold it

Love modded cars. On my 4th Vette. Have no clue what 436hp feels like! And like McAndrew (if he sold), there are three lucky Vette owners out there. And one very blessed owner right here.
