Default Flats?

OK guys and dolls, I love my Vette and am new to the whole Corvette experience, now going on 6 weeks. I still pinch myself every time I open the garage door. Now this may sound like a dumb question but I am sure many of you have experienced this. What do you do if you have a flat tire? My 2011 GS has very good tires. Michelin Pilot Super Sports but they are not run flat. There is a lug nut key in my glove box. I am going on a 3000 mile road trip next week. Cruising to Illinois then down through the Ozarks. Any tips on what to do if I get a flat?

Call AAA or carry a can of goo.

Since most flats lose air very slowly, get yourself a portable air compressor like I did when I switched to runflats. You can probably make it to a repair shop afterwards. The TPMS will let you know when the pressure is low. The tire sealant in cans is known to ruin the sensors, but can get you going again after a total flat. I also carry a repair kit but have never had to use it on the Corvette. I've used it twice on my other vehicles...it's an easy fix when the car is in the garage or on the driveway...

I have the griots compressor, small, powerful but expensive. Stop and go tire plug kit, again expensive but best, it has the mushroom plugs, few tools like a screw drivers and pliers to pull out nails and screws, collapsible gorilla wrench for the lug nuts and a bmw compact jack. Jack fits behind the seat and all the rest in the cubby in the back. And yes i also have the michelin ss non run flats. You may not even have the tire removed to plug it but if it is in an difficult to access area you can do repairs just like the good old days.
