I think there is a correlation to geography. North Scottsdale is an exotic car haven. I can take a five minute drive from my home in any direction and pretty much guarantee I'll see at least a Ferrari, and/or Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Jaguar, at least two or three Vettes (in five minutes) BMWs and MBs are more numerous than Chevys and Fords. Just yesterday, saw a BMW I8 on Pima Blvd.
It's hard to even get Vette owners to waive anymore, much less get a thumbs up from anyone at a stop light. Vettes are pretty "low rent" in my area, but I cherish my C6 just the same.
You took the words right out of my mouth !! I also live N. Scottsdale, in last 3 yrs. only got "Nice Car" comment twice !!

Scottsdale is a beautiful place to live and if you do I guess you can afford to live some where else during the Spring, Summer and Fall. Gosh the heat. Yea I know it's dry heat but still.
My 2006 still gets lot's of positive compliments, mostly at the gas pumps. At the golf course, just the other day, one fella said to me...how do you keep that beautiful car so clean? We've had a very dry summer so far I told him My C6 is my summer daily driver.
Whenever I am in the garage working or just hanging out in there, I get lot's of "nice" car from those walking their dogs.
2011 coupe... I got a kick a couple months back at the grocery store. The guy carrying out groceries starts telling me about a murdered out Vette in the parking lot. LOL There were 3 sackers (high school boys) going nuts over it in the parking lot.
I know..... It had blacked out lights. (Resent state inspection)

Most people don't know a C6 from a C7. Most of the people I work with think my 07 is a NEW 60k+ dollar car. It has caused a lot of jealousy here at work.
Also people instantly think your rich which can put you at some risk from bad people. I've had at least two try to set me up.

I agree with you about people not knowing the difference. A few days ago while I was filling up, the guy on the other side of pump said, "So, that's what the new model looks like, looks great, how do you (I) like it?" I just smiled, thanked him and politely let him know it was a 2006 C6, the previous generation, and I love it.

Unfortunately very true. Perception over reality drives a lot of negative emotions. However, our C6's look good (especially in Monterey Red)

This is true. I got my C6 in 2014. Back in 2012 Chevy brought a C7 to Corvette Corral at Road America. I didn't think it looked much different from a C6! I can't even believe I felt that way now.
