Someone new to a Vette probably wouldn't think to go to a Vette specific forum to buy a car. I know I didn't think to do so..rookie mistake though. Will next time!
Maybe this will help, Pictures sell cars, or at least get interest
Its the truth

I WOULD NEVER RESPOND TO ANY CAR AD IN ANY VENUE WHERE THE SELLER ISN'T WILLING TO SHOWCASE THE CAR WITH THE IMPORTANT PICS AND THE LOGICAL FACTS AND OPTIONS. I figure the person wanting to sell their car would want to answer every possible question a prospective buyer would want to know, just common sense! GIGO!
I just bought my C6 in June, so this comes from a buyers perspective. I shopped using Autotrader, Edmunds, cars.com, Ebay and I actually did look on this forum (was already a member since I was thinking about buying a C3 a few years back).
I'll tell you, it's a buyers market. There are a lot of these cars out there for sale. I immediately dismissed any ads that didn't have good, high quality pictures from all sides, the interior and engine. If you can't take good pictures, the buyer is wondering what you are hiding. I also dismissed any ads that didn't list all the options and features of the car. No mileage got an ignore. Didn't list whether manual or auto, ignored (I wasn't even going to look at an auto).
This is basic stuff. If they can't be bothered with this much, I figured the seller really didn't want to part with it.
.
Sage advice. Same criteria I used, and agree with your assessment regarding buyer's market. I certainly see that in my region. Dozens of cars for sale in C5, 6 and 7s.
When I bought two years ago, I didn't want - auto, convertible, or some years and colors, and mileage, so I used search criteria on Autotrader, cars, Ebay, etc. to narrow down the list; otherwise, I would have had to spend much more time searching/reading ads.
I keep watching the local market and definitely a buyer's market by shear volume alone.
I put a listing in the for sale section and haven't gotten any inquiries. It's a beautiful '12 crystal red convertible with tan interior, auto, 3LT, dual mode exhaust, and a very realistic price. I am getting up in years and thought I'd let it go. Is the market for these car just slow, or should I advertise somewhere else ? I thought I would at least get a few inquiries. Any advise welcome.

I looked at the ad, and you don't have any pics. People want to see the car, the interior, etc.
Lots of folks don't think about going to a forum site to buy a vehicle. Try listing in Craigslist, cargurus, and cars.com. Your write-up is good, but lack of pics is an instant killer.
Thanks for all the really good advice. I get it.........more pics, lots more pics, and other advertising places.
Thanks again guys....I really appreciate the advise and will act accordingly.
They used to be good in the past, but now they are too polluted with tail light special independent sales lots. Corvette Trader may be better or Car Gurus. You are smart to sell your car pivately instead of trading it in for something. Another optiion would be to sell it through a dealer on consignment. I've been happy selling vehilces this way.
you're doing nothing wrong. people go over there to check out who is selling or to just check out the cars via pictures and nothing more. you get very few people who buy from that site. too many can't afford what they see and like so they go elsewhere to buy.
