DRL Switchback Lighting Install Question
I purchased the following to change up the DRL and blinker in my 12GS.
Bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Resistor:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My question is which wires do I tap with the resistor in order to make this work properly? I have seen many threads but none are very specific as to which wires to tap. I understand that the resistor needs to be mounted on a metal part of the car and am thinking I may make a metal mounting plate myself.
I also got these for my fogs which are plug and play:

Just trying to change up the looks a bit.

I did a DRL conversion from RadioFlyer (and loving it!). I'd like to get LED fogs next.
With these switchbacks in Auto headlights mode you'll have yellow in day & all signaling. At night they'll go white with headlights. If you want white during daytime I flip my headlight selector manually to park lamps mode.
For resistors You'll have to determine which wire is which..connect between ground wire & Turn signal/Drl daytime wire (feeds bright filament, on standard bulbs)..The 3rd wire is the nighttime Drl w/headlights wire (feeds dim filament). No resistor on this wire.
The point of the resistors is to slow down the blinking. That's why only needed on the turn signal wire.

The lights from ebay and Amazon only light up white if the headlights are on

Took me about 15 minutes to do both sides with DRL and fog light bulbs. Would have gone faster if I had jacked up the car and taken the wheels off.
I did have to remove the three retaining screws from the fog light housing in order to make the bulbs work, the base of the bulb is a bit larger in diameter than the stock bulb so it did not want to go in 100% though it seems like the gasket has it sealed. I put them back in place over the tabs once the bulb was inserted.
With the car slammed on the stock bolts it was very tight getting my hands in there and manipulating things, but it was worth the effort.
The car is dirty from its weekly commute, tomorrow is wash day, be gentle.
I really like the look and hope that the fogs will work better on a foggy morning than the stockers.

A better choice would be some of the newer high-output LED bulbs. These usually have a small fan attached to the back to aid in cooling.
These might be a better choice:

Note: the lumens testing may be a little off, but they are FAR brighter than the plasma or even the Cree XP-E or XP-D type bulbs which are suitable for brake/turn or marker purposes.
