Default solved grinding noise

Well I had the grinding, creaking, noise from the undercarriage on my 2007 corvette.
Took it to my local Corvette dealer and it took them about 5 hours to figure out what everybody on this sight said it could be.
I did mention the transfer oil change, but it landed on deaf ears.
Suddenly they said Yes there is a bulletin out about changing the oil in the transfer case.
Well it did stop the noise. So if you do have this problem that is the first place to look. It cost ME $250.00 to school this dealer.
Ron.

Pun and fun above non withstanding, you could have done this on your own for about $60. But if you had such interests you would have also known that only 4 wheel drives have transfer cases, corvettes not being 4 by 4 have differentials, or commonly called rear ends. Please take this in jest as ridiculing you is not my intention, DIY is not for everyone, but for the ones that hate dealers, (for a reason) there is great satisfaction of being able to service your car on your own, Because you know it will be done right and to perfection. If you had the shop manual for your car and few basic tools and read on it, i guarantee you would have said, darn, this job is easy, i could gave done it myself.

Yeah I had the dealer change the differential a few years ago but it didn't quite it down. They charged me 100.00 but I doubt they used the right LS fluid. I just had some delivered so will do the work myself.

Don't take things too seriously, theres a bunch of jokers on here I'm glad that solved it, wouldn't be the first time someone had to teach a dealer something.

This is a huge site and, luckily, there are only a handful of members that never bring any value, just sarcasm and vitriol. It doesn't take long to ID them and they're easy to ignore.

Blowing them off is their demise, but responding to them just feeds their chronic antisocial behavior; and in a sick way, justifies their continued existence......Don't give in! Stick with it!

Yup, I agree. I don't know where you came up with the info on the rearend fluid but that kinda stuff is always asked and answered here.
A great place to learn. Sometimes I scratch my head and say "damn, I didn't know that."
Post up a picture of your car when you can.

Ronald...don't go away, man. There is way too much value on this site to let a few jugheads deprive you of knowledge (not referring to any on this thread, but others). Stick around and you will wind up knowing more about your Vette than just about any mechanic.
