Seriously, auto pros: no dead leg from shifting, no stalling, no missed gears, no grinding gears, no clutch to replace, no ancillary clutch parts to replace, no fluid maintenance other than every 100k, it's faster shifting than any human being could ever even begin to think about.

Cons: it doesn't sound like a manual when shifting, you can't "bang" through gears...lol

Sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here
Dead leg from shifting? Is that a thing? Sounds like some people might need a gym membership

I have shifted gears for over 570,000 miles in my last two cars. Got an auto in the Vette. I don't regret it!

I have no idea, honestly.
But hit me up if you aren't sure the 'Right' way to eat Oreos,
I have the definitive on that one.

Either way you slice it, there is a lot of good info in this
thread, like the shift speed of paddles, not being super
snappy, I wasn't aware of that, I do remember something
about changing corrupt fluids in the manual (Achilles heel to MC's ),
something a guy could miss but might catch in this thread.
And yea, having to change out that fluid is not a big deal nor
a deal breaker , just a valuable tip.

Well dam, no wonder M6 grand sports are overpriced. Everyone seems to drive autos. Most of the excuses that people are coming up with for owning autos over manuals are real weak.

The only way i'll ever own an auto sports car or corvette is if manufacturers stop making them

Yea...excuses are abundant to be sure, but after watching a few of these videos that people put out when they are racing it appears to me that some/most people don't know how to use a manual, at least when trying to go fast. They take longer to shift than a drive through at Jack-In-The-Box. After many years of owning manual hot rods, I didn't really care what my C-6 came with. Color, drop top, and low mileage were the most important thing to me. I wanted to play right now so I wasn't gonna wait around for months just to find the right box feeding the rear end.....

Driving a GS Corvette with an automatic is like watching paint dry...

I think it's funny that this is a debate vs a personal choice. I used to think I cared, but then drove an auto and realized I am just as connected with what the car is doing as all my manual vehicles. If you are not connected to your automatic vette, you don't drive it enough. Whatever your choice, get it out of the garage and drive it!

I had three auto corvettes. '74, '87, '02. I liked them all. But I love my '07 manual! It is all about personal choice!
