Connector Problem

This is my 14th Corvette and I believe that this is the first time I have had a problem putting a connector back on!
To start my car is a Pilot car so I expect some surprises. I just got my set of 08 service manuals and what I see in them does not entirely match my car. That being said, I was installing a SKIP SHIFT kit The instructions tell me to locate the white connector on the transmission. I did not see a white connector on the drivers side so I looked on the passenger side. There was a somewhat white connector which I now believe was for oil temperature. Unfortunately I pulled it off now I cannot get it to go back on?
I have enclosed pictures of the connector. It is shaped so there can be only one way to put it on but will not go! There is a clip on the side and I wedged it open with a allen wrench but it still will not go together.
In addition to the connector, I still do not see a place to hook up the Skip Shift.
I have also enclosed another picture of some device on the passenger side.
The transmission is a Tremac but does not match the one in the service manual. The car was the 6th one built for the 08 model.
Top picture is unidentified part. The rest are of the problem connector.
The problem is fixed! The connector that I pulled off had a part missing that was in the sender. It is a small piece of red plastic and is part of the removable connector. It stayed in the sender and was blocking me from pushing the plug back on. I was able to pull it out of the sender and reinsert it back into the connector. Walla it plugged in as it should, problem solved.

And on the connector, you have to push the side un-latch piece in, as you index orientation mate it up correctly to the sensor connector.

For the skip shift, I had used the Smart fuse type, works great, easier to install.

Just for chuckles, go to the seat information area and see the C5 seat illustrations for example. You'll start to lose trust quickly.
My '08 is an Oct '07 build, so seeing the cutoff date for information (aka corrections) was 11-15-07, you'd expect manuals purchased a few years later would be pretty accurate.

I saw quite a few illustrations that were obviously C5 when I looked through mine...still glad I have them though...much more good than bad.The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
