I have a 2008 with Nav Radio and would like to add Bluetooth. How difficult is this to do, and what system should I get? JAY
It's been done but I believe you would need a newer nav unit and would be adding some additional wiring. I suggest an aftermarket radio. It would be cheaper, have more features (including Bluetooth) and better navigation along with looking very similar to the stock nav unit.
Dennis at Double D Mods, a forum vendor, is the go-to guy for Corvette aftermarket audio. He will provide you the head unit prewired to make it a plug and play install. Removal and re installation is fairly easy. Heck I did it to my 2008. I even added a backup camera.
You will need an 09+ radio like it says it step 4. I didn't have nav on my 3LT so I got a 2011+ nav along with a 2011+ center console so I could get the USB/AUX ports as well.
I think this is the best solution because nothing will integrate better with the speakers than this. I would be glad to help if you have any questions.

I purchased a i-931 bt interface. Works great plug and play. Mic is mounted on a pillar not even noticeable and streams bt music from phone. Also has a USB charge/input I modified to fit the center console. Was maybe 100? Took about 2hrs.
Another option is to add this Bluetooth plug in device. Installed one in my 05 Coupe last year and it works great. It uses the onstar microphone, integrates with your sound system and uses the Onstar controls on the mirror to operate it. Installation took all of 5 minutes.Costar Technologies BlueStar for GM Vehicles

I converted mine over to factory Bluetooth but before that I too used the Costar Bluestar unit , next best thing to the factory unit and it's plug and play

I sidestepped all the installation issues and just bought a Jabra Freeway wireless bluetooth speaker. It clamps to my visor, has a battery that goes 45 days on a single charge. When the phone rings I just say "answer" and start talking. Great sound.

I just read the manual and docs on this unit. This thing really looks like it provides the cleanest integration for phone calls. How does it do for streaming audio?
I just added the Isimple isgm655 to my 06. Purchased from Double D Mods for $115. Easy installation. Streaming BT, two aux ports and a ipod port. Works great.
No streaming audio.......but it does have a aux jack
Actually the Bluestar does stream audio through Bluetooth although it is only in mono mode and works great for audio books. It has a auxiliary port that you can run a cable to the console as well.
