Glad to hear you've got the issue resolved. The factory learn strategy leaves a good bit to be desired. For one reason or another, the car will "learn" to shift poorly over time - why? I honestly don't know. All I know is that resetting this learn data will usually give awesome results, and if it doesn't, then you have a clutch issue in the trans itself. Thus, it's a pretty good diagnostic tool.
I have found that the best way to prevent it from learning to flare is to maintain your throttle position during the shift. If you lift off or otherwise reduce throttle right as it shifts, the computer will sense that it didn't need as much pressure as it thought it did, so it will think that it can lower pressure on future shifts.
Humm that is a pretty good thought. That would make a lot of sense... I don't do it all the time but I have caught my self lifting out of the throttle as the car shifts. Not purposely, but accelerate hard from a stop causing the trans to hold 1st gear longer than it would under normal acceleration. Then slowly rolling out of the throttle, which Causes the trans to start quickly shifting through gears.... at the same time I am letting off... I'll pay more attention to Not doing that.
I am pretty excited but i am still a bit skeptical that it's fixed. But as of right now I everything looks good. The issue appears to have been resolved. I will put some more miles on it and give another update in a week or 2.
I just wanted to thank everyone again for there help. And hopefully this post can help some one in the the future
The shifting issue is completely resolved. I am having a different issue now, throwing a code for the input speed sensor. (Made a new thred last night asking about that) But to stay on topic yes, It looks like reprogramming the trans resolved the issue. I have about 300-400 miles on it and so far so good.
Even if I had a completely stock Vette I would get a good tuner to improve it.
My tuner did 3 passes on the Dyno and then went on a drive with the laptop to dial it in.
Made a world of difference!!
