Well, last weekend the wife and I decided to pack up the Corvette and take our first trip. We left Cincinnati on Friday evening and headed down to the Knoxville, TN area. On Saturday we woke up and headed down to the Blue Ridge Parkway driving to Galax, Va. On Sunday we woke up and did the rest of the Blue Ridge and the entire Skyline Drive and stayed all night in Front Royal, Va. Monday, all back roads home to Cincinnati with a total of around 1600 miles in 3 1/2 days. The weather was amazing and the Corvette ran awesome the entire trip. I can now say that I am 100% happy with the car since buying it in March of this year. I'm amazed at how comfortable the car is on long trip...we had a ball the entire time.
with the OP..it is a great car to take on road trips. It's very comfortable to drive, good gas mileage (not that that really matters) a great looking ride, and enough power to get out of any trouble if needed.
We have used the C6 extensively since 2010 for all our road trips. The longest was 5000 miles and 3 weeks long Atlantic Canada to Key West and back with many destinatoion stops both going down and coming back. We have put roughly 60K miles on road trips alone on our C6 since we have owned it.
We took our 06 on a trip from Denver to San Diego back in May and couldn't believe how comfortable it was to drive and the gas mileage on the highway was amazing!
Glad you had fun! The furthest I have gone so far in my 07 was to Carlisle, PA. Corvettes at Carlisle. A solid 4 hour drive. I would like to do more road trips, but no one wants to go. Oh well I will have to go by my self!
Glad that you had a good time. These C6s are the best! Like you I went on a 3000 mile road trip from Sth. Tx-Ill.-Mo. and back to sth. Tx. Had a ball and really enjoyed the winding roads of the Ozarks. Not one moment of trouble. Had mine since June. Love the ride too!
Looks like you are in my area!! I will be sure and Wave when I see you!! Sounds like a good trip..I am planning to take a trip next month..Nothing like getting the Vette out on the open road!!
We did the Blue Ridge Pkwy in late June. It is a great trip, in a beautiful part of the country. Now that you know how good of a road car your Vette is, get out there and enjoy it.
