Default Why is this so hard!

Looking for my first vette still. I've only test driven an '07 so far and I was immediately hooked even though it has the LS2.

I've found two vettes I'm interested in and I kinda need some advice. The specs on the two:

2006 Base Model LS2 M6 Black with 11,110miles - $25,990
2009 1LT LS3 M6 Dark Grey with 41k miles - $26,990

Is the LS3 worth the extra grand and the extra 30k miles?

You speak about the LS2 like it's a bad thing. I would NEVER buy a 1LT car but that's just me.

I would like the lower mileage car as well. Cheaper on initial price and insurance. Although... "dark grey" might persuade me.

I think you'll know when the correct car comes along. I don't think you've found your car just yet.

First thing you will do with the 1LT is start spending money trying to upgrade.

No no no that wasn't my intention, not looking to offend anyone. From my research so far the LS2 is just as capable as the LS3. I guess I'm just looking to get the best value for my money.
Either the LS2 or the LS3 is an upgrade from my current 2010 V6 Camaro lol.

Is the 1LT lacking a lot of features?

I'm not sure I need the heated seats or the bose system (exhaust is my system) but is the HUD a good thing to have?

No offense taken, just want to make sure you don't exclude an '06 or '07 because it has the LS2. It's an extremely capable engine. Now, if everything else was apples to apples, then yes of course that could be the tipping point. But I'd take a 3LT low mile LS2 over a 1LT higher mile LS3 any day.

I would not want a car without the HUD, heated seats and sport seats.

Fair enough. I suppose for my first step into the Vette world a low mileage LS2 is a great starting point. I'm not super picky about the color just because my current car kinda takes the cake when it comes to eye grabbing colors lol. Color can always be changed.

pic of my current car

If the HUD is useful then I wouldn't mind having it. Are the sport seat vastly different that the standard ones?

The 1LT does have a power driver seat, but manual passenger seat.

My vette is a 2007 base model. I've put in leather console lid, shift boot and ebrake boot/handle. Nothing else really.

Buy the newer car. Who needs heated seats anyway? 2006 is a 10 year old car and needs a lot of age related maintenance.

With the '09 having 30k more miles the maintenance is probably in the same boat as far as age vs wear

I have a 3LT and don't even use the heated seats or the HUD..I find the HUD distracting and my butt is plenty warm... It's all about what you like, some guys really like these options, others don't......WW
