I purchased a replacement tail light for my C6 from a GM supplier. However, it did not come with the rubber surround for the light. Is the rubber piece a separate part number or should it have come with the light? Does anyone have the part number for the rubber piece?
I don't beleive the C6 OEM tail lights ever came with rubber seals surrounding the lights.
There are some after market tail light seals you can purchase. www.southerncarparts.com sells what appears to be a good set for around $25.00
The aftermarket seals were supposed to keep water from pooling below the light when washing the car and then dripping down the outside of the bumper when done.
The easy fix is to remove the light and drill a small hole at the center of the dirt pile to let water drain out on the inside of the bumper.
