I am thinking about putting the lambo door hinge kit on my c6. Does anyone has any comments or reviews on any good bolt on kits from any of those companies out there?
Have you found a kit that comes with explosive charges into the hinge pins, so if the car flips over, the pins blow so you can get out of the car in a roll over crash???
Also, does it come with the needed items to program such into the system to work correctly as well????
This should be an interesting topic now that the C6 is affordable for all ages.
The younger guys will want some unusual changes to their cars and the stubborn purest who hate the new tail lights will bash the folks who want to customize their car to their likes.
I am not sure any of you remember the words of Rodney King...
When I purchased my C6 the previous owner had installed the lambo door hinges. Not sure what make or model but with mine you can still open the door normally and if you want to, can raise them up. I'm not sure how long they have been on the car so I can't speak to the durability but in my 3mos of ownership they have worked flawless.
They do draw a lot of attention and I always have people asking for pictures.
Here is a picture of it, If you want more pictures of the hinge itself or anything just let me know!
They do look good on vettes. But I would say that all of them requires you to modify your car to some extent, you will need to trim some fender material off, cut and extend your door wire harness rain boot. I heard both good and bad things about these kits. When, not if the gas shocks fail on some models, that door becomes a guillotine. 703's kit seems to be one of the more popular because you only use the feature when you want to, use the door as before when you don't need the attention.
I've heard good things about ZLR doors, they also make the gullwing style kit for our cars, pricey though.

dreamcarcustoms.com $1350 its a father and son they have come up a new type hinge no cutting or welding. There in Savannah Ga. they have a great web site. 912-661-4275 kind of pricey but well worth it u can get them a lot cheaper but they are junk. Hope this helps u out
No doubt they will grab attention. I don't have them on mine but people love them at the car shows. I know many on this site put down certain MODs but don't let that stop you. It is your car after all. Good luck.
I like any option that allows conventional and flip-up (gull wing) door opening. So many times I find I'm forced into parking situations where I wish I had more room and if I could flip-up instead of out... that would be nice.
to each their own. to non car/vette guys they'll think its "cool" to anyone that's into performance or vettes will think it's tacky and a waste of $. but it's your car.
I would get the kit that allows the door to operate normally as well, you know, for when you're at a corvette meet and don't wanna be judged haha
For those that have installed the Lambo hinges, I would like to ask if it make it easier to get in and out in tight spots. One challenge I have is getting in the car when I am unable to open the door fully. It's not impossible but doing the sit and rotate is more difficult with the door partially closed.
