Just installed curb alert unit o my 2006 per instructions. Problem is it works fine approaching curb, but it beeps at incoming traffic. I calibrated iy many times and tested it at 4 inches .also if I push any buttons on the dash, such as gas or travel etc. it beeps every time. Called manuf. and they keep saying recalibrate. They claim they never had this problem and unit is fine for that car. Thanks for your advise.

It sounds like it's aimed too high. I use curb alert on my 2010 GS. I used a 4 inch high box to calibrate. It should beep at about 20 inches away from the 4" inch box that simulates a curb.
I get a few false alarms but it's mostly with dips in the road.
I have curb alert, and it's set for 12 inches from the curb. I don't know how high you have the sensor, but it sounds to high.
I also recommend when you have set, use RTV in the hinges so it will never move incase you bump it.
I use it on my 05 and haven't had any of those issues either. I agree with your aim is too high. I had the same issue when I installed mine, readjusted the aim and all is good.
