A soft pedal is a sure indicator that there is still air in the system. They need to be re-bled.

Not properly bled, you more then likely have air in the lines, or lines not closed tight.

First, be sure you did bleed the system correctly. Second, if you didn't re-install the calipers correctly, then you can not bleed the system completely. The valve of the calipers must be installed pointing up not towards the ground. So double check your installation. Re install if necessary and then bleed the system again. Third, If when removing the calipers you allowed the fluid to leak out, and didn't plug the brake lines, you may have removed fluid from the ABS system and simple bleeding may not get the trapped air out.

Tough break. In general, what you describe is always a result of air in the brake system.

You did replace the crush washers when reinstalling the brake lines correct? Have to be careful and correctly torque the banjo fittings with those new crush washers as well. Failing to do so can result in a break in the seal allowing air in the system and the brake pedal will be soft.

My first thought also...are the bleed valves facing up? This has happened here on the forum before.

Too funny, jmac!

Bleed them, and do it in sequence. Your brakes are split down the center line of the car...RF & RR from one reservoir, LF & LR from the other. Bleed rear, then front on one side, repeat on other.

That's good to know; not all cars are set up this way.

Don't mean to stick nose in but. My understanding the sequence is

RR,LF,LR,RF .... Bleeding inside port first then outer port for each caliper

Just my understanding.....Luck ....OP

Brain fart...yes, you are correct. If 1/2 your master cylinder goes dry you will have one front and one rear brake on opposite sides remain.
Sorry 'bout that.

Well at least no ones chimed in saying that if you would have changed your brake fluid every 6 weeks this wouldn't have happened.......
