C-6 you may get more joy out of a6 with paddles model than an a4 if you like to clown with maunuallly up shifting and down shifting gears in an automatic get the a6 lateR models
had no issues with quality of A 4 AT ALL- BUT WOULD BUY A USED A6 PADDLE FOR SURE OVER IT
if you just push the go and stop pedal, going for the a4 is fine
JUST MAKE SURE IT HAS THE PERFORMANCE TALLER REAR END GEAR OPTIONED AT THAT TIME ....

You are probably right but I shift my A4 manually and it flies when I want!!
As long as you do routine maintenance the 05 should be good.
I've had a lot of electric problems as of late with mine.
I think the 6-speed transmission should have a modified shifter because factory it's like driving a 1960's dump truck, it's very sloppy and don't get me started on the 1st gear lock out when your on steep f'in hill.
At around 69K I've had to replace the AC condenser/motor (never use the damn thing either)
Make sure if you store it in the winter to bring it to a reputable dealer/mechanic to reset all of your electronic crap when you get it out.
Don't slack on maintenance. It's expensive to own these cars. I wish it were as easy as my Chevy Cruize

That higher gear rear end is possibly the best stock option you can get. Makes the car feel much guicker, but probably hurts gas mileage a little if it's a DD. So worth it though!

Park in reverse is only for manuals so that won't affect you, however I've read hundreds of posts on the auto shifter cable breaking and leaving the owner stranded. Not just on '05s but all years. Seems like a much more prevalent problem.
going to happen to the C7 gen autos as well as they start to age.
