Battery jumpers
I'm thinking of getting one of those compact battery jumpers that can be kept in a glove box for an emergency. I have been looking at the Lightning brand (they're red and black) for around $65. Does anyone else have one that they would recommend?

Bought one & used it on friends cars. One word of advice they are rated like batteries and have cranking amp ratings.

They seem to hold their charge for a good while, but I'd be inclined to get one of the more powerful units and be sure to keep it charged up.
We carried jumper cables in our C5 but the C6 has no convenient place to store them. The jump packs seem like a better idea.
But I just replace the battery every 3 years (~40k miles) and keep it on a tender at home. So far, so good.

I bought a PowerAll PBJS16000R (12V, 600A) which works but it's not like connecting a real battery pack or to another car. It's worked every time I've used it but it sure sounds like it's not going to start the car. But it does.
I paid $130 for it and it appears to be down to $85 now at everyone's favorite internet retail site.
Not sure I'd buy it again. I'd really like one that has more oomph where I'm not worried the car might not start.
