After reading numerous posts on here regarding how to make playable mp3 discs for the C6 with nav, I've finally been able to burn discs that reliably play in my car, show the proper file names in order, folder names, etc. However, I can't get the system to recognize playlists. I'm using Winamp to create the playlists and I've tried all three formats: m3u, m3u8, and pls. None of these show up on the screen to select when the disc is playing.
Is there some secret to creating playlists that the C6 nav system will recognize and play?
Media Monkey works well for this. There are about a 100 post on this question just do a search.
I've tried Media Monkey, Roxio, and Express Burn. The mp3 files show up on the display in the car and play just fine, but the m3u playlist files do not show up. That is my issue: How do you create playlists that the system will recognize, display, and ultimately execute to play the songs in the list?
From the 2005 owners manual: "Play will begin from the first track in the first playlist and will continue sequentially through all tracks in each playlist." "You can access preprogrammed playlists which were created by WinAmp™, MusicMatch™, or Real Jukebox™ software, however, you will not have editing capability. These playlists will be treated as special folders containing compressed audio song files."
