HB problems

Before buying my vette, I had never heard of a harmonic balancer, and I have owned and driven a lot of different vehicles, including 24 company provided vehicles, (cars and pickups). I'm just curious...I wonder how many C6's out on the road today actually have a HB issue. Some of those with the problem post on CF, but in reality, is it a problem that only affects a very small percentage of C6 Corvettes?

I think few cars are affected, however if you do need a replacement it is very expensive. (No warranty) One of our members got a dealer quote of $1,850..

I hope he went somewhere else. That's about $600-$700 more than what most dealers charge.

I've heard they typicially go bad at about 50 to 60 thousand miles. Just inspect it for wobble once in a while.

Learn how to turn a wrench and it is a $200 repair.
