Non-runflat question
I have a 2008 Convertible with stock rims.
I needed new front tires to get the car inspected. Money is a bit tight now, and I wanted to try some non-runflat tires, so I got a set of CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DW XL from TireRack and had my dealership install them.
I like the way they ride, and was very pleased with them until I got home and noticed there is a bit of a gap around the rim.
I asked a few others and the consensus is that it's normal (but unattractive) and due to it being a non-runflat tire.
Does anyone have any pictures of this tire installed?
Is this normal?
If it's normal, and safe, I may leave them on until I can afford something that looks better. Or, do all non-runflat tires look like this when installed on stock rims?

NON run flats have softer/narrower sidewalls than runflats, as that is the part of the tire which supports the vehicle weight on a runflat tire in case of loss of air pressure.............
just went out and compared your pictures to my mine

You need to take a picture of more of the tire to see it as being all around. Looks fine to me and that gap is to protect your rims from getting a little rash.
I just put on an new set of Conti A/S DWS 06 and it looks the same. Wipe that gunk out of around the rim it will look fine. They put that on to help get the tire on and maybe a little extra seal. I haven't cleaned mine up yet but look just like yours and no problem. Discount Tire put mine on and they do good work.
These two are mine

Check your alignment, sometimes it really helps the inside fronts. Especially if they were worn down and not the outside of the tires.
Somewhere around $80-100 alignment could save you wear, if the rest of front end is good.
