Quick Jack BL5000 SLX
I am thinking about buying a Quick Jack BL5000SLX. Any members with pros or cons of this unit ?

I recently purchased one of these and am using it right now to replace the clutch in my car. Went ahead and installed a new fuel pump as well while I have the drivetrain out of the car. I think this has been a pretty good test of the kind of work that you can do on our cars with it, and so far I love it. It has plenty of height for a big job like this and I feel very comfortable underneath it. The only complaint that I have about this style of lift is that it blocks your side access, but it has really only been a minor inconvenience and nothing that I haven't been able to work around. I would still much rather have this lift than mess with trying to use a jack and jack stands to evenly get the car this high in the air. The older I get the less I like laying under cars on jack stands.

I would not be without mine as long as I own a Corvette. One word of caution, MAKE double sure that the two lifts are parallel. After using mine a few times I got careless and didn't double check. I ended up with the right side being in such a bind it would not lower, it was scary to say the least. That being said I love everything about them now that I cut three 2"x4"s to use for a quick set up. Mike

Go on youtube for assembly instructions while waiting on delivery. Nothing complicated, just tedious. Love mine. Will definitely be useful putting the NPP's on this winter.

Just a heads up, I used liquid teflon instead of the tape they supplied and ended up with leaks. It should have worked and maybe I should have let it set up longer. Anyway I resealed some of the connections with the tape and no more leaks!
To be honest, I thought my connections were good and the quick connects were leaking, but it was my fault for not using the tape.

Thanks everybody for comments and pictures. I ordered the 5000 a couple of days ago. Mike.

Quick question for you: what are the extensions coming out of the middle of the lift, at floor level, perpendicular to the lift?
