Hmmm, that's an interesting tint option.
It might help if you provide a little more detail.
How did you prep the lenses prior to applying tint?
Were the tinit pieces precut or you cutting to fit?
You use heat at all during the application process?
What are you using for film application fluid?

It's not the tint so much (although I wouldn't do it), it's that he was only tinting the
upper portion of the headlight.
That looks off to me.

Sure, I understand its not for everyone absolutely.

I can see doing it just to be different from other Corvette owners. It's questionable if you could slide it past state inspection depending where you live. If you can't get it to stick your only other option would be spray on tint. Then you would have to reason possibly replacing the lenses in the future if the tint can't be buffed off. That is if GM decides to stop making the lenses.
