Default Sound deadening

Hello Friends,
I used some Noico butyl rubber sound deadening material in the rear area, behind seats and under inner fenders. I really cut road noise. Why can't I use this on the flat panels under the car? It sticks like crazy. I'm not sure I want to mess with pulling console and seats out.

I did my GS this summer also and like the results. I am worried that the product exposed to the elements will deteriorate rapidly in some areas......maybe not....be interesting to see what others did.......Enjoy!

My C6Z cabin is covered in DynaMat. It works great. The interior is actually quieter than a friends new CTS as long as you stay out of it and keep the BB Fusion baffles closed.

Looks good. Where do you buy that material and do you need to tape the seems?

The Noico material I bought on Amazon and the Peel and Seal I used in the wheel openings is from Lowes. I did not tape the seams but I guess it wouldn't hurt. this stuff is very sticky.

Please, how did you remove the storage compartment EXACTLY !!
What do you pull on exactly ???? I'm afraid to pull any harder than I have
If I can get those out I think I would like to try the Peel & Seal treatment Thanks

I have'nt done it to my Vette yet, but in the past I purchased radiant barrier at Home Depot or Lowes and glued it into place after I cut it to the size I needed. You can also double stick tape it into position with grey 3M tape if desired. Way cheaper and the car got much quieter afterwards. Excellent insulator also.

Use real, metallic duct tape. Don't use the fabric stuff that really should be called all-purpose tape. It's never used on ducts.

Based on doing the same to my C5, sealing the wheel well openings will by far be the most effective.

Were you able to get the wheel well liners back on easily?

Thanks for the product info. I'm going to look into this as an over the winter project. I do have some of the metallic tape here from installing a new ducted microwave.

Sorry I took so long to reply. When you pull up on the plastic frames around the two storage wells, you will feel resistance near the corners of the frame holding them and the carpet down. In my photo, zoom in on the driver's side area where the compartment is and you can see a little gold colored clip sticking up. There are 2 on each side. Just get your fingers under there and pull up - hard. It is a little scary removing some of the plastic pieces because it seems like they are going to break - especially the targa holders. After the frames and carpet are out the storage wells just lift out. If you were in El Paso I would be glad to help. Best regards!

Yes, the wheel well liners were fairly easy to remove and reinstall. I have only done the driver's side so far and I could swear there is less road noise on that side. Best regards

I used the Peel and Seal from Lowe's in the rear compartment and behind the seats. It's been through two Texas summers and zero issues.
IMO it greatly reduced the heat in the storage area.
