Good question and I don't know the answer, but you can try this: On another car I had ... I think a Camry ... when you moved the arm away from the windshield about 90 degrees, it released the hold onto the splined stud and the arm could be pulled right off. Not sure if that's how it's done on the Vette though ... only the driver's side will go all the way up ... the passenger side only goes up a couple of inches for no known reason (so don't force it).
There must be a straightforward way though, even if this method isn't it.
To remove the entire arm, first pop the plastic cover at the end of the arm. The attachment nut is under the cover. Remove the nut and with one hand reliever the pressure of the arm portion against the windshield. Then just wiggle the attachment of the arm and it will just pop off. Now a little tip, before removing the arm mark the location of the wiper blade on the windshield with tape. When you re-install the arm you will have a definite location to position the blade on the windshield. Tip: Before reinstalling the arm on the drive post put a little lube on it so it will come off easier next time.
Ok I figured it out. no special tool needed,
1 remove plastic cover
2 remove nut
3 I tapped the area were the bolt is with a small rubber mallet
4 lift the smaller arm, then lift the hole arm of the bolt

Be sure to put a little lube on the drive post so it will be easier if you need to do it again.
