Has anyone tried to install the clear bra kit on their car? I ordered one and would like to know how difficult it is. I have experience tinting windows and did a hood wrap on my car before (took it off). Doesn't seem like it would be much harder. Anyone? suggestions ?
Guess ill see when the kit gets here. Seems like the truck would be easier. Less curves = less bubbles
Curves are easy, it's the deep contours my truck had on the hood that are probably 1" deep that wanted to keep coming up. I don't see anything that deep on the Corvette. Lots of soapy water and patience

I've got plenty of soapy water... patience..... not so much. Definitely gonna have to wait till I'm really in to mood to deal with it.
Dust is the enemy. It can hide under a wrap unless it's boulder size. If your car is darker in color, you practically need a clean room for a perfect install.
Few have ever posted success stories except when installing small pieces...headlights, mirrors, 1/4 hood, etc....so to me, that is somewhat telling.

My installer came to my house and did it in my garage. Expel Ultimate on whole front end, 18" up hood and across fenders, rockers, lower door strip and mirrors. It took him almost eight hours. He had to come back and fix a few things. OP is right about dust. Anything on the surface will result in a tiny little bubble. I now understand why the install is so expensive. I am sure some will say they did it but not something I would want to do after seeing a guy with 20 years experience do it. A lot of light and a clean room are a necessity. ANYTHING under the film will show in the sunlight. Good luck.
Smaller pieces like the hood, fenders, headlight covers were a piece of cake. The large piece for the front bumper was tough, but I got some help from the daughter to hold it in places while I did some of the stretching and smoothing. I had no issues with dust or dirt doing it at home in my garage, and a few very tiny bubbles worked their way out as it dried over a few days.
My suggestion is to get a helper if you have any large pieces like the front bumper.
I paid for a local expert to do my Corvette. Many of the kits don't wrap around the edges of some parts, for example the leading edge of the hood, and I wanted this complete coverage.
thanks for the info everyone. I did wrap my hood one time with carbon fiber and it wasn't that difficult so I'm hoping it wont be too much different. As far as dust I know from tinting windows that it can be a problem and know how to be pretty careful.
