Awesome unit with Apple Car Play, Had it installed by the dealer. Took them about 2.5 hours. They have done C6's in the past.

Took a 1200 mi trip and after 5 hours I lost all audio. Returned to the dealer and the problem was that it wasn't supplying enough voltage to the Bose Amp. They had to add a relay that could handle 5 amps. All is good now.

They did not cut any factory plugs or splice any wires, after market interface cables with matching plugs were used for the install. The backup camera is wired directly and the Mic is installed by the Gauge Cluster.

I installed the AVIC 7000 NEX. With the help of Dennis @ Double D Mods the install was easy.

My plan was to buy the 8200 from Dennis also. I was leaving on a road trip the following day. I'm glad that I had the Nav. Both are awesome units.

Did you lose or maintain HUD connectivity with nav system?

I believe he may have been inquiring as to whether you still had HUD interactivity with your new aftermarket Nav radio (aka, nav instructions shown in the HUD)?

I will check that feature today, not sure if that is available on a 2005.

Interested in this too, the main reason I've not upgraded is I like the HUD interaction and as far as I know there's no aftermarket unit that interacts with the HUD...

The HUD will not interface. No aftermarket unit will. You will lose that function on anything except the factory head unit.

So the HUD will work but not with the new unit to display the radio and cd stations and tracks?

Confirmed, I never really noticed before.
Doesn't bother me since the map graphics are far superior to the factory Nav. Another plus is having a backup camera.

The OEM HUD integration is the key for me. I dont need to ever look at the Nav screen, it lets me know on the HUD withing 1 mile when my next turn is.
The OEM Nav is as good or better than any aftermarket as far a profiency of directions go.
It is just not as intuitive as an aftermarket unit.

There are some nice aftermarket units out there, just as the OP has.

Thanks Dave. I have an 07 Z51 3lt manual 6 speed and I don't have a NAV unit. I bought the PAL unit from a brother forum member. It works great. Unfortunately I don't have blue tooth. But happy as pig in ****. Lol.
