Default water pump

Water pump just gave out, have anyone used a gates water pump, I had a road trip planned for Friday morning and it would take two days to get an oem part, so any pros and cons.

Not in my vette but we have 6 classic mustangs that I have used Gates water pumps in all of them. Never had any issues.

Jegs sells a high performance water pump and I believe you can get overnight if you want to shell out the money.

In a pinch, you may try a rebuild unit from auto zone, pep boys, etc.

The oem piece is no prize, using something else is fine...for me, I would just want to make sure it wasn't made in China. I put a NAPA rebuilt water pump on my Trans Am in the early '80s and it's still doing fine. I figure that 33 years and still going strong is pretty good for a water pump.
