Default The first 36 months...

I just finished up my first 36 months of C6 ownership. I purchased the car new Dec 1st 2013. It's a 2013 GS M6 4LT with every major factory option. I have 6,200 miles on the car and thus far the only warranty work done on the car was to replace the gas cap. It runs and works flawlessly. I love this car, it the best car I have ever owned, in both design, fit and finish. I think it was built on the last day of production Feb 28, 2013. I have no complaints with the car, none. GM hit a home run with this car.

Congratulations! It is a sweet ride!
I would consider an extended warranty. Call GM or the dealer and see if you can purchase one. It wouldn't hurt. JMHO and 2 cents.

It wouldn't hurt to see if he could buy one, but it would definitely hurt to buy one.
3 years ago, when I bought my 2011 GS, the dealer tried to sell me an extended warranty. I declined. Today, 20k trouble-free miles later, I am glad I didn't buy it.

Congratulations. I also have a 13 GS M6 coupe, 6000 miles, Blade Silver with black interior, 3LT with every major option, built in Jan 2013 and bought new by me on July 1, 2013. Like yours the car is stock except for some minor additions like Lloyds mats.

The car has run perfectly. And I love the ride, comfort, power and style of the GS, especially as I have still not warmed up to the C7.

My only problem is I can't drive it enough. I never expected to have only 6000 miles at this point.

The first week I got it I found out the front splitter would not clear the steep entrance to my parking garage at work in Baltimore City where I have a reserved space. So that ended any chance of commuting in the Vette.

Then I realized there are no all season tires available. That ended any chance of cold weather driving. So a car I wanted my whole life, which I expected to drive almost every day once I got it, has become a garage queen I drive 20 times a year. Instead I drive my RAV4.

So like you I feel the car is a home run. That said, I often think about something sporty I can drive year round. So I'm test driving an Audi S5 this afternoon. Been thinking about trading the GS. We will see . . .

Continued good luck with your beautiful anniversary GS. (And with such low mileage I would not spend the money on an extended warranty.)

I sure hate to see someone who really wants to drive the car, but has a problem. My suggestion is to take off the splitter. Another option is the ride height can be easily increased with the adjustment bolts on the suspension. You might consider the adjustment first. BTW, angled approaches to steep inclines makes it a little easier too.

Thanks. Not sure taking off the splitter would do it, but never thought about it. But can't really enter my garage on an angle . . . gotta go straight through a security gate and swipe my badge. I do approach my driveway on an angle.

That said, drove an Audi S5 with a 6 - speed manual today. Nice, quick, refined and AWD . . . but its no Corvette. Not even close. Can't get rid of my GS for it. May just sell my RAV4, buy the S5, and keep the GS as well. Working the numbers out Monday. But the GS is staying.

I was just thinking that about my 2011 GS today, it runs like a top, everything works as it should, handles great, good power (except I want more) good looking, and comfortable to drive as I am old with a bad back.
It has 29,000 mi and pretty much perfect Think I'll keep it !!

I have owned my 2005 C6 since it was almost new with 1,200 miles on the clock. I had to replace the gas cap. I replaced the rear axle nuts which only took about 15 minutes. I had the headlight recall done. Other than a couple little things it has been a great Corvette but I need to drive it more. It only has 44,000 miles on it but every mile has been fun. I seldom drive it to work since I have other nice vehicles to drive. I don't plan on keeping it forever though. I am going to search for a C-7 next time around but I do not plan on buying a brand new one again since they depreciate so quickly. I believe the C-6 has been the most trouble free car of all of the generations. The C-5 was widely know for it's steering column lock problems, some oil burning in the 2001's, and lots of rear end leakage and clutches that would overheat quickly. The C-7's appear to have a lot of problems with their automatics as well as a lot of GM trucks which must use the same automatic or a transmission very similar. With that being said the C-6 is definitely a reliable Corvette and may go down as one of the most reliable generations ever built.

My 13 GS convertible is 36 months old now and I have 36,000 miles on it. I purchased a GMEPP because I can't keep my *** out of the seat. We have a 14 Malibu as a daily driver but since we are both retired we like to get out and drive the Vette. My splitter drags on my driveway all of the time. I am on my second one now. I kept the original, sanded it down and hung it up in the garage to replace the second one in 20,000 miles and repeat the process. As for all season tires, I do drive it in the cold weather just not aggressively and not in the snow and ice. The Bridgestone Pole Position RFT's are much better in the rain than the GY's were. They GY's scared the crap out of me a couple of times.

I'm with you! I passed 3 years in March & my car was one of the last built(Feb 13). Had zero issues as well and plan on keeping this car forever! No C7 in my future, I'll add a C2 or a Chevelle/1st gen Camaro to the stable. Long live the 13 C6....
