Default spark plug wire insulators?

Putting headers on my 2010 & even though they are coated, I want to be extra careful with heat issues, I need some recommendations as to what brand spark plug wire insulators to purchase? thanks

I get generic sleeves from ebay or Amazon. Buy based on color and price. Don't get tricked into paying top dollar for a name brand because they're all relatively the same. I've never seen a test comparing one brand to another. I have generic sleeves on both my vehicles with headers and I haven't had any problems in many years/miles.

Good luck, let us know how it comes out OK ? I went with whatever Maryland had for sleeves plus MSD plug wires.
Waiting for them but I know it will be at 3 weeks before the headers show up

I also bought my Kooks headers/X pipe from Maryland Speed, they were sent out to get coated, so I probably wont see them until after the 1st of the year

They are the same material welding blankets are made of. So any kind of brand made of the same material will work.

Agreed on the ebay ones. I think I paid $15 for a full set and they have been great.

Are we discussing using a sock insulator down where the spark plug boot is? What I did was when the headers went on I changed the wires to MSD red wires and polished up the OEM metal insulators and reinstalled. Works perfect and at no cost for new insulators.

I use both .... the metal insulator and the sock , the sock protects the wire portion which the metal does not cover

Not sure why or what they are selling , I removed my metal shields, cleaned them up then slid the sock down over the wire down to the metal shield ....

I have stock wires on both my vehicles and reused the metal sleeve with the heat protector socks.

The only thing I can think of is if you want the socks to cover the metal sleeve, you'll have to cut and remove the metal ring inside the socks. That's kind of redundant though since the metal sleeve protects plenty. I won't speak badly about the vendor because I wasn't part of the conversation and they always have good prices/sales. But....they're still in business to make money, which doesn't always translate to accurate advice.

Ebay/Amazon generic wire insulators. I think they were about $20 and work just fine.

I'm just as confused after seeing yours, looks just like what I wanted to do, Oh well, we'll see and if not needed then I'll have a nice set of red MSD Super Conductor wires, not that much$$$

NSF,
The sleeves won't fit over the ends of stock wires unless you get the oversized sleeves...

I don't have headers, but I hated those stock metal insulaters around the plug boots, I removed the metal sleeves and replaced them with these from Auto zone...I bought 4 regular sized sleeves and cut them in half, then pushed them onto the wire from the bottom, then put the plug wire back on.This has to be better insulation then the metal sleeves......WW

I got mine from Hinsons, they are longer than most going from the can up to the coil.
