Convertable Maint?
Hi all
I have a 2013 GS convert. It only has 4000 miles on it and is stored in a garage covered. It has never been in the rain or snow and has only been washed once since new. Here is my question. Is there anything I need to treat the top with to help it last?
Thanks for any responses.

I use Tide to wash and nothing to seal.

Frankly, with a garage queen (no disrespect) you don't need to worry about it. It isn't getting dirty or weathered so no reason to do anything but keep it dusted. I used a vacuum or lint roller on my '08 for 8 years, never washed it (garage queen also).

I use a powerful Shop Vac with the round brush attachment to get the grit out of the fabric. It's a little like carpet...the wear comes from sharp grit/dirt in it that cuts and wears on the fabric/pile. Raggtopp is great stuff and I use it about once a year since my top is stowed most of the time, but vacuuming to get the fine dirt out is important.

You should clean, wash and protect anyway. Tops get dirty, period. Vacuum, lint roll or soft bristle brush then wash with a soft bristle brush. I use a shoeshine brush. I also use a $1.00 plastic paint pan and 4" or 6"roller to apply in lieu of spraying. Open top and roll around all edges. Close top and finish applying. Hit the seems really good. Repeat after initial coat dries.
