I have a base model C6 and want to know the feasibility of installing a HUD.
Also my wife likes the heated, lumbar seat option for the passenger seat.
Are these upgrades available?
I love the car but would like to add these upgrades.

Adding HUD has been a popular mod over the years. Depends on your confidence with tearing into your dash.
Watch the video linked in post 1 in here then you can review Andrew's tips in post 4 and decide if you want to tackle it yourself or find someone to do it. The video shows how to get into the dash to "repair" a HUD, it's the same to install one. You can buy the kit from Gene Culley, Cultrag Performance (vendor here):

You can't do factory seat heaters but there are aftermarket kits that are pretty good.

A bit sideways from the OP question, but....better to figure out what you want before you buy the car, then find one with the equipment you want. In earlier models, like '05 to '09, there is very little added price to a 3LT versus a 1LT. Really great value to buy the upgraded car.Originally Posted by rkj427

I bought one of the HUD units from Cultrag and had a professional install it and I love it in my 08 base. I was not brave enough to do it myself and I'm glad they did it for me. You'll love it if you have one.

I think I paid 600 dollars installed for the HUD in my 2008 corvette about five years ago at Carlisle show. I also had a dsv steering wheel installed I think for around five hundred? The d shaped thick leather rim in a D shape makes getting in and out easier too....who knew? The reason I mention it is because the steering wheel comes off easy and it made the job supposedly easier for the HUD installion...or at least that's what the installers told me..so I had them through it in...
I don't use the hud that much....I didn't really care as I had it in my previous c5z06....but for 600 dollars what the hell...
If you have the seat heaters put in...make sure you spend the extra 40 dollars getting one of the seat repair kits southern car parts sells on this forum..
All corvette seats have springs inside the seats that over time cut the foam seat cushion ..by placing this forty dollar kit inside the seat as the seat heaters are being installed...you ll make it so the seat cushion doesn't cut the foam in the seat bottom...
A very good 40 dollars spent per seat...I didn't do the passenger seat ...but sitting in the passenger seat without the kit an drew then sitting in the drivers seat...it's like holly ****...
I never thought to put a seat heater in though....that's not a bad idea..
Good luck on buying a new corvette...I would suggest shopping around...making sure you get the color and options you really want...there are 9 years of production to choose from.
