Default 2006 C6 Base Coupe electrical issue, Need HELP!

Hello all, I have a 2006 C6 and about two weeks ago I noticed that the windows and the power mirrors would quit working and the security light would come on, it would return to normal function after driving for a while but now it never comes back. The windows do come down to allow the door to open and they do roll up when the door is shut. My buddy has a computer scanner and was able to roll the windows up and down using that and upon scanning found 2 codes, the first is U1000 (Class 2 Data link) and the second is U1164 (Lost communication with Driver door switch). Does this mean bad switch or could there be another issue?

Those communication errors can be difficult.

I suggest you put a new battery in the car first, OR at least have the current one fully tested. That may solve everything. But once you have a known good battery the troubleshooting becomes meaningful.

Thank you for the reply. I forgot to add that it does have a brand new battery and I have checked all the connections for the battery.

sooooo nothing in my driver door would work except the button to open. I also had a security light on. The fix i found was a broken red with white stripe wire between the door and the body. I pulled off the door panel and removed the door speaker. I also removed the seal trim and a cover just above the hood release. There are two connections there that can be undone and allows you to pull the wires back into the door. I then undid the loom and found the wire. Hope this is helpful to someone, took me forever to find lol
