Here's a RPO code list, maybe could come in handy use for references to the components built into your car.

Check your codes as the above posters have said but Z51 rotors would be crossdrilled. Non Z51 rotors are plain.

Add to confusion, I think F55 optioned cars has the cross drilled Z51 type rotors only. But that type car is not a Z51 optioned car, can't have both

^ But both will have J55 I think, which is the heavy duty brakes code.

It will be listed on the RPO tag in the glove box as others suggested. This one is mine, you can see the Z51 in the fifth row.

F55 cars do have cross drilled rotors.

Z51 equipped cars have holes in the brakes to aid with cooling during hard use. Since a lot of people like the look and/or performance, the only real way to tell is to look at the codes in the glove box.

I found some drilled J55 rotors - AC Delco from Hendrick super Chevy in Kansas. $100.00 each and free shipping. I didn't want to wait so I got the NAPA ultra premium for 67.00. For my type of driving they should be ok. Best regards Monte

If your car is not factory fitted with the J55 HD brake rotors (Z51 type rotor), and your looking to upgrade to them, the brake caliber brackets also need to be used, as your stock ones will not work.
I believe that there is a GM parts vendor here that has the parts needed as a kit.

Yes the calipers are interchangeable between non Z51 and Z51. But the caliper brackets do change to allow for the bigger Z51 rotors.

When switching caliper diameters brackets need to be accounted for. Front and rear both.

Yes, I think this is correct. Looking at my RPO sticker, I don't have the Z51 package, yet do have F55 and J55 on my sticker - which means I have both the magnetic ride shocks and the larger brake package, with cross-drilled rotors. From the Chevy 2008 Corvette RPO guide: "Magnetic Selective Ride Control, for ultimate driver control and comfort through the use of driver-selected Tour or Sport modes. Includes larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors. Footnote: Not available with (Z51) Z51 Performance Package."

I'm assuming that J55 is a confirmation of the bigger brake package. And, if I was guessing, it is likely the same upgraded brake parts that are included in the Z51 package, but I would want to check with a dealer before I got parts, to make sure I was getting the correct parts for my car.

Every individual component is listed on the RPO list, so if J55 is on it, the larger rotors came with the car from the factory.
