DIC LCD Color Change
I have not seen any info on if its possible? Anyone have any ideas? I hate the ugly green GM used in just about every car of the era. Seems the HUD can be changed so why not the DIC?

Just thinking out loud here, but the LCD screen has to be a general electronic part as GM would not design and develop a custom part for something this trivial. I'm not saying that removal and re-install would be easy considering the size of electronics now days, but I think it would be possible. Look up LCD TFT Displays for example.

I have an old HUD and this question got the best of me so I decided to have a look inside. The display seems to be a transparent display of some standard type. It looks to me like the color comes from a LED projector shining through the transparent display. It could be fairly easy to change the color of the HUD by changing LED's that light up the LCD transparent display. There's also a diagonal mirror that seems to have a color shift (to green) effect which could make the change even easier.
