So where is the love for the base model?
As a regular reader of the C6 Forum I see Grand Sport this and GS that. When I bought my Vette back in '15 I could get a 2010 2LT GS coupe for the same price as a base 3LT Vert. For me it was a no brainer. I'll take a Vert over a coupe any day. So I ask; Where is the love for the base model?

That's why they make different models. Everyone doesn't like the same thing.

When I bought my 2008 there was no GS and I just didn't want to spend the $ for a Z06. Thus, I love my base model. Had I had a choice, well, not sure what I'd have purchased.

I love the wide bodies, but I do not look down on the base models.
The C6 in general is stunning.
So as long as it has chrome wheels.

The love is right here in my back pocket. And I don't refer to my car as a base model, it's a Corvette convertible

There is love here for the base C6. I've owned two of them as a matter of fact.

Only Corvette guys call them base models. To everyone else, they are Corvettes. The general public can't tell the real difference other than perhaps the gills on the side.

As a GS owner, I have lots of love for all Corvettes regardless of model or series. The only place I differ from the OP, is he strongly prefers a convertible, and I wouldn't buy a 'vert. That's why they make both I suppose!

I have love for all models, as well as almost all years. In 2006 when I bought mine, I was in a position to buy either the base or the ZO6, but there were a few reasons the base was an easy decision for me, not least of which was the removable top. Had the GS or a ZO6 with a removable top been out the decision may have been a little tougher, but I love my base model and would have most likely still went with it

I still think the Base model is the smoothest looking body.
Granted looking outdated now with the GS models all over and the more edgy C7 design.
Still though some things are simpler hence easier to look at.
I have the same taste in watch dials now, best if old school with no complications.
