Well have had 2 vettes in past a 94 black on black and an 99 frc black both 6 speeds i am looking for a toy and foynd a 05 c6 6speed with 100 thousand on odometre but from florida its got 4 new tires and fairly new clutch stock except borla exhaust im going to see it this week while on vacation just curious if 100 is alot for a c6 no experience here and short on time .Anything i should be looking for guys any help will be appreciated.

does mileage scare you that much even if records are on hand and she has alot of highway miles?

 

thanks yeah alot will depend on how it looks and carfax report seems like southern cars see alot more miles and price is at 15 so that seems fair

 

No issues with mileage here. Mine sees all highway miles and they rack up fast. It cruises at 75 and gets 30MPG. I chose this over driving a civic or some hybrid. Definitely go for it.

I found the car. Find out why its missing the emblem on the front and check the harmonic balancer for a wobble.

 

100k is the new 50k. If you test drive the car and it's still got some pep in it's step, and you don't hear any obvious strange sounds coming from it - sure why not. As somebody else mentioned, southern cars are driven more because they don't have snow / salt to contend with.

Carfax, autocheck, etc are not a tell-all when it comes to determining if a vehicle has actually been repaired or not. I purchased my 07 vette with 21k miles on it on and ad from a dealership that said "No accidents, according to the carfax!"

Now read into that sentence again. According to the carfax... however the owner was smart, and kind enough to trade the vehicle in with a fat stack of his maintenance records which were given to me. I looked the car over and could tell that the tintcoat on the front bumper was ever so slightly off a shade compared to the fenders. The carfax says this car is flawless. The documentation that came with the car says it had the front bumper replaced by a legitimate body shop as well as the fog lights, and the lower valance panels. I drove it, and was satisfied with the way the car looked in the sunlight, only a trained eye could tell it was ever repaired. The price was right, so I bought it.

Anyway sorry for the long story, but the moral of it is even if it was repaired at some point. it may not be the end of the world - just another bargaining chip for you the buyer.

harmonic balance is known issue for "wobble" due to separation of the rubber dampening material....................

 

Lots of C6's out there. Yes 100K is not alot anymore, but less is better in many ways. Shop on! Enjoy the hunt.
