Since I never drive the car and unfortunately have my Dad's 11 GS vert I was somewhat contemplating trading it in on a yukon denali for wifey. I was only looking at 16's as I figure they would be more apt to give me a better deal since it's obviously been sitting on their lot for at least 6 mos .
my car is wHite with the stripes, every option except zr1 wheels and a 91k+ sticker car and
has 850 miles on it. They offered 44k
I know they start low but is that really close to the value of these things with no miles????
Thoughts....
I checked on ebay for past sales. It seems most low mile 427 cars with 5000-11k miles sell for the low 50s. Of course a sub 1000 mile car should sell for higher. I think their trade in offer if it was 50k would be more fair.
Did you ask them how they came up with that price?
What are they taking off the price of the GMC? Not rebates from GM, the dealer.
Using round numbers, your car is worth $50k. I'd offer them wholesale used price for their year old (although "new") since that's what they're offering you.
When I got my 12 GS a few weeks ago they have a sub 10k mile 427 on the lot. Asking was 58k or so I think, supposedly they had someone willing to go 56 but they declined the offer.
Prices for them are all over the place. Sometimes you see them for 50 flat, others are 60k. I think a lot depends on options and colors. When I looked at them, a black car with the black and red suede interior was 58k at the cheapest.
They're probably scared to have it on their lot because it could easily grow roots. At $44k they're thinking they'll make up any loss they have on the Yukon and be able to sell this at auction or to another dealer without taking a loss.
Edit: That would have been the thought process at the dealer where I used to work.

agreed, when I bought mine, it was at the dealer over 430 days.........
had a couple other ones there too at that time............. and they are still there 9 months later....................
with C7 prices close to the 427 values, seems the public wants the latest version with little to no thought about future depreciation or value......
the 427's will bottom out soon, if not already, due to what it is as far as a collector car and value, where the C7's have nothing to stop them from depreciating to normal used car values of about 40% MSRP within a 3 - 4 year window...............
^ That's easy to say, but that takes a combination of patience, risk, possible financial worry, possible lack of space, etc.
So you have to look at what the price is that someone would pay today, right now. Most likely $50k. Then you have the sales tax issue, which appears to be around $4000. So IMO it would be easier to just negotiate a couple thousand more from the dealer.

Scared of the 427
Many dealers are afraid of the 427 regardless of miles. There have been engine problems noted and that in itself has many dealers skeptical of the car. even low miles ones since the noted problems seem to develop around the 4-5k mark. I know that is what stopped me when I sold my C7 to go back to a C6. Wound up with a 13 GS vert, MN6 about 10k less than the 427.

Assuming car is 1SC it's worth every penny of 52k, Manheim says so, I would say more at the right auction. So, if there is a sales tax advantage to trade, find a buyer and trade on paper to the new owner through the dealer. Any Chevrolet dealer surely would do that to sell a Yukon.
Car is 1SC, literally every box checked with 859 miles. White with the stripes which to me is the true 60th anniversary. Just like everyone with a 2003 says it's a 50th to try to make it better. A 50th is the maroon/shale car.
sales tax on 50k is almost 4500 saving(56k would be 5k) so almost have to trade if that was option I was taking.
I would think the car would have considerly more value then a 10k mile car.
Member above stated dealer turned down 56 for theirs with way more miles. I'm sure will just get moved to back corner of garage, lifted off ground, and started 3-4x a yr.
Kind of sucks but won't give it away either.
Yukon is 14k off sticker as its a 16.Thing is cash or trade is same price.
thanks for the replies all.
