I've heard reports that Discount Tire is going to build their first Alabama store in Huntsville/Madison. But I've also seen it called "Tire Discounters", which I've never heard of. Maybe they're building both.
Does anybody know if Discount Tire is really going to open a location here? From all reports, it would be a great addition. The closest one that I know of is in suburban Nashville.
They are here in Knoxville. If you are interested in buying, you should check Discount Tire Direct on the web. I just bought a tire and wheel package from them (should be here in next day or two). Mounted, balanced, with tire pressure sensors, ready to mount. Good price as well. Shipped directly to my home.

For anyone interested, discount tire direct is doing $100 off $450 on ebay. I got $200 off their already great prices, with free shipping. Can't beat them (well, they used to do 100 off 400, so I guess that was better but no difference for me).

For the Corvette they said they could not get what I wanted (Discount Tire got them in 3 days) and their price on a previous inquiry was higher than Discount Tire. I have bought 5 sets of tires from Discount Tire over the last 4 years and won't go any where else. They'll price match and their services are outstanding.

what do you need a store for? and wouldn't you call Discount tire and ask them? you can buy from them on line just like tire rack.

Discount tire direct has ridiculous sales on holidays combined with manufacturer rebates which can save you often between 200 and 500 on a set of tires. This is big money in the tire world, that's like buying 3 getting 1 free. If you can hold out, wait for the next major holiday.
I have been buying tires from them since the mid 1980's and just bought a set of Continental Extreme DW tires for my vette convert a few months back at my local store. They matched The really good sale price that Tire Rack was running at the time and it ran around $786 total out the door installed.
