My '05 convertible is going in for a new set of Michelin's tomorrow. I have a separate thread going (very quietly...) regarding the selection of 45 tires on the front and 40's on the back. I have an idea that a slightly taller set of tires (1/2 inch radius increase) might serve to reduce air deflector strikes, fill up the wheel arch, and avoid some negative body-lowering issues by keeping the suspension at stock specs.
My car was delivered 12.5 years ago and still has the original TPMS sensors onboard with zero issues. However, the car only has 18.5K miles on the clock. I'm replacing the sensors, now. Despite the low miles, I'm amazed that the original units still produce a signal.
The part number OEM for 05 is TPS 2005 Corvette #25758220.
17801156 is a bulk qty of 25758220, so they are sold at a cheaper price. 17801156 is on backorder right now.
I put that link out here for those who may want to purchase a set now and wait for them to come in to save some money that way.
Otherwise 25758220 is on the shelf and ready to go, and we always cycle our stock so that you're getting the newest product to ensure the longest life.
GM is now showing stock available, I have them ordered, should take about 7-10 business days to arrive!!
After 10 years, my 2006 still has the original tire pressure sensors.
I was in need of my 4th set of tires at 85K miles, so I decided to buy new TPMS sensors, knowing full well that the batteries in the originals would eventually fail.
In the fall, after putting up my car for the winter, I had the worn out tires dismounted from the rims so I could inspect the inside of the rims for edge pitting etc.
I did find a few areas on all 4 rims that had some scale buildup, so I fixed that up, polished and prepped for the new tires.
I bought Schrader sensors (OEM in 2006) installed them on my rims, and had new tires installed this past week.
I used a relearn tool that I purchased in the fall to marry up the sensors to my car, and it was a piece of cake.
Is anyone else on their original sensors after 10 years?
I have a 2010 Grand Sport Coupe. Is the 17801156 the correct GM TPMS sensor for my car? It was my understanding that different model year C6 Corvette's had different TPMS sensors.
There's a good chance that the AC Delco and Schrader TPMS are made in China or Mexico. So does it really matter if you buy an AC Delco or Schrader TPMS.

2005-09 oem sensors are schraders i believe. buying them as schraders might be a little cheaper than the delco labeled ones. just a guess.
This may or may not help, but here is an original Schrader unit from my 2005:
The model number stamped in plastic is: 25758220
The white bar code label is a unit serial number
I realize that items of OEM are very important to some but FWIW, Schrader is a British manufacturer of electronics.... Just sayin'
yes.... British electronics, such as the infamous Lucas were power by electrical smoke.
Once the smoke escapes from the electrical circuit that means there is a problem and loss of most electrical power. And sometimes worse. It's much tougher to get the smoke back in.
I have a 2007 with 60000 miles and still on my originals in all 4 corners... I just put on 4 new tires yesterday, and didn't even think about replacing them... now I bet that I have jinxed myself, and I'll need to replace them shortly!!! LOL

Just saw your post this morning. I have a '06 with about 73 K miles and I'm still running on the original TPMS. As I'm preparing to replace my tires, I'm going to change sensors but curious to know if GM has issued any specs on life expectancy.
While I'm here, can someone recommend a good supplier? My Chevy dealer wants $123/sensor.

Lol I remember those days quite well. Lucas used to have a nickname "Lucas, the prince of darkness".
I've only replaced one on my left front wheel on my '09. I tried to check the air pressure with my gauge and the end of the aluminum valve stem broke off and shot the end of the stem and the valve mechanism about half way across my garage. Gave me a chance to check my DIC to confirm that the left front had 0 lbs of pressure.
