Came out to the garage this morning and the driver door was ajar. Figured I didn't close it tight after a 200 mile road trip yesterday. Opened it and closed it and it just bounced back, not far, but like the seat belt was caught, only it bottoms out like it should and then opens slightly. Always closed easy and tight. It is not an indexing problem, because the window is indexing and I re indexed for good measure. I pushed the latch in with my finger and it latches and then reopens when activated by the outside door handle touch pad. Even closing it moderately hard doesn't do it. I haven't gotten mad and slammed it. Car is high mile, but there is no sag in the hinges. I suppose it's possible the Striker went suddenly out of adjustment, but it seems tight and it looks like I have to take the door panel off to get to adjustment. Any ideas?
Guess I should not have been bragging about my "trouble free" 200k C6. LOL

There are others that will know much more than me, but sometimes the pad needs to be cleaned. The contacts get dirty and may be causing your latch problem. I have info at home as how to do this and can send to you when I get home later. It's pretty simple to do.

Good for you at 200k...
The latches have been know to go bad and maybe this is it. Check out you tube for the install instructions, as it seems real easy to do.
This could help you;
Thanks for the input. This forum is awesome! I think I have figured it out. I put a punch in the latch and moved the latching "dog" to make it lock, which it did, but I could exert light pressure in the opposite direction and it unlatched, so the latch is bad. This would explain why he door closes normally, but bounces right open as the weather seal overcomes the strength of the latch.

Exactly what happened to me. Mine failed over the course of a couple of months. Sometimes I would have to slam the door for it to latch. One day I heard the alarm horn sounding and went outside to find the door open. That's pretty much when it stopped latching all together. Just like you I tested the latch, only with a screwdriver. Bought the replacement from gmpartsdirect.com. Install took about 30 minutes, maybe less. Super easy!
