I just bought a 2005 Vette. I get NO Fobs Detected message in the DIC unless I put one of the fobs in the glove box slot. The car will then start. The car has a new battery with full charge and the Fobs both have new batteries with 3.2v. Both fobs will operated the door locks, trunk and panic. The car does not recognize either of them in the seat memory option or the radio preset option. I've tried tapping the brake and unlock /lock buttons several times. Nothing changes. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
If the car recognizes them in slot, they are programmed and should work normally.
As for the memory not working, it's possible they are programmed as #3 and #4. Only #1 and #2 will work for memory functions. You will probably have to erase and reprogram them with the long programming procedure, or have a dealer do it.
I understand what you are saying about 3&4 verses 1&2 and memory recognition.
The problem is that unless one of them is in the glove box slot, the DIC says No Fobs Detected and the car will not start. All the buttons on the fobs work correctly. Could the fobs be faulty or something else in the car?
Thanks.

It sounds like an antenna issue in the car. I wouldn't presume to make that a diagnosis but that's what it sounds like. You might have to visit a dealer and see if they can diagnose it for a reasonable amount of money.
The new fob batteries are bad (happens more often than you might think) or you have some sort of interference. Take all phones and magnets out of your pocket and unplug all chargers and RDs. If that doesn't work, buy new fob batteries and reinstall.

I put in a new battery reading 3.34V. There are no phones, chargers or other interference. By reinstall above, did you mean the batteries, or something else? No change, so far.
It could be the fob's transmitters are just weak (it happens; those are more than a decade old), or that the car's antennas are bad. The former is the cheapest to check ... buy a new fob off eBay or from one of the Forum vendors and try it. Not sure why the latter would happen, but ...
Yes, I've double checked the orientation of the batteries, in fact several times. Positive side down to match the + in the cover. I have wondered about the Fobs being weak or something. I will get a new one and try that avenue first. Hopefully it will program okay.
Since you say both fobs will open/lock doors, trunk, and panic (I assume you meant in the manual mode), try walking 100 feet away and unlocking/locking doors in the manual mode. That'll confirm battery power and direct access to the RCDLR.
All the other functions are passive mode and require the fob to be in close proximity of the item's individual antenna. If you can't open a door or trunk by holding the fob near the door handle or trunk button, then the RCDLR is bad and will need replaced. It's been known that it occasionally fails. See http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...message-9.html
Google the part number 15815693 and/or the replacement 25940664 to find the best price/delivery or go to your local stealership with a printout from the google search to ask for their best price match deal.
Sounds as if you have hit on the problem. I can go down the street and operate the fob button to open/lock doors, open trunk. etc. When I approach car nothing opens passively. I have to press buttons on the fob to open or lock. The passive seat memory is also not activated. I have to press the button on the door. The passive functions are set in the options. Thanks.
